Johannes Werle, born in 1967, studied business management in Mannheim, Paris, Oxford and Berlin. He completed his studies with both a degree in business management and with the Diplôme Grande Ecole de Commerce, MSc. His career in the media sector began in 1993 in the central corporate development division of Bertelsmann AG. In 1997, he moved to Prisma Presse SNC in France, where he firstly concluded a traineeship in journalism. He became publishing house manager of the Paris-based international division of Gruner & Jahr AG in 1998. There he was responsible for the commercial accountability concerning all international activities . Since 2002 onwards, Johannes Werle’s positions have included managing director of National Geographic France and publishing house managing director and publisher of the brands “GEO” and “ça m'intéresse.” In 2007, he took the post of managing director at Verlagsgruppe NEWS GmbH in Vienna. In the summer of 2016 Johannes Werle graduated the Standford Executive Program of the Stanford University in California.
Johannes Werle has been a managing director of the Rheinische Post Mediengruppe since 2012. He has been deputy chairman of the board of directors since in January 2017. Since April 2018 he is chairman of the board. He assumed responsibility for the Daily Newspapers NRW, Advertising paper publishing houses NRW, Radio, “Digital” business segment, Professional media and the supervision of the majority shareholding of the Saarbrücker Zeitungsgruppe as well as the business segments "Publishing Operations".
Hans Peter Bork
Managing Director
Hans Peter Bork, born in 1967, studied business management in Marburg, Paris, Oxford and Berlin and completed his studies both with a degree in business management and with the Diplôme Grande Ecole de Commerce, MSc. He successfully passed the professional exams as certified tax advisor, chartered accountant and certified public accountant.
Hans Peter Bork began his career in 1993 at BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand AG in Düsseldorf, where he became a partner in 2000 and branch manager in 2006. In 2007 he moved to Deloitte & Touche GmbH in Düsseldorf as an audit partner. Since June 2011 he has been a managing director of the Rheinische Post Mediengruppe, where he is responsible for the real estate business segment as well as for the areas of Finance, Accounting, Tax, Group Controlling, Legal, M&A, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Purchasing and Facility Management.
